As a researcher I endeavour to use data and words to describe what's out there and take the reader in a trip (not so) far away, to discover the unseen and understand the unexpected.
My work
While peer reviewed papers are the most prestigious form of academic output, the same rigour characterises all of my published research work: academic journal articles that have not undergone peer review, conference papers, dissertations, book sections, monographs, op-ed & analysis, software, and data-visualisations.

I regularly publish analyses and commentaries on international economics, public finance, macroeconomics, economic policy and geo-economics on various outlets, both acacemic and professional.

I have had many opportunities to speak in front of knowledgeable publics of my peers and people much more expert than me on topic I care about.
Figures are innocent people who, under solicitation, under torture, very quickly confess what is asked of them, even if it means retracting later.

The approaches to blockmodeling dynamic networks are very useful for studying scientific collaboration as operationalised by co-authorship (due to ‘noise’, lag in publications, etc.), and it makes observing changes over time easier, which is a very important issue in the social sciences.
